Located in Gandiol, in the northern coast of Senegal, the Dëkandoo residency is part of the communal project launched by Hahatay. It aims to be a space for communication between the local community and the other territories, where new ideas circulate from an innovative and creative perspective.
Since 2019, Dëkandoo has hosted more than 40 artists and researchers in residence, from different artistic and geographical backgrounds.
Founded by artivist Mamadou Dia following his double migration experience, first to Europe and then back to his village of origin, the residency is part of a whole ecosystem in which people from Gandiol and elsewhere in the world participate.
